Nigeria has a population of 213 million where 1 in 3 children are not in school, 68% of the population live below the poverty line, 43% of girls are married before their 18th birthday and only 10% of children attend secondary.
Women in Nigeria earn on average 25% less than their male counterparts, and despite making up the majority of the agricultural workforces, they are not in control of the land they work on. When we empower women and girls with education and skills acquisition training opportunities, we are creating a generation of self-dependency and lowering the scale of poverty in many homes in Nigeria.
We believe that children should be empowered to thrive, and no child should arrive at school without their essential learning materials, that women can generate wealth while working from home without the need to leave their children unattended.
